The opening session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale in Lexington will be Wednesday, Nov. 10, Keeneland's president and CEO Shannon Arvin and vice president of sales Tony Lacy announced July 27 in an update to customers. The mixed sale is scheduled to run through Nov. 21.

Keeneland's November sale is one of the major breeding stock sales that follows the Breeders' Cup World Championships, which this year will take place Nov. 5-6 at Del Mar. On Nov. 9 in Lexington, Fasig-Tipton will hold The November Sale, its one-day selected breeding stock sale.

"In keeping with Keeneland's mission, we continually strive to do what is best for the industry. Setting the stage for a successful November sale is a top priority as we work to deliver the absolute best marketplace to buyers and sellers this fall," Arvin and Lacy said in the update. "Keeneland's opening session of the 2021 November sale will be on Wednesday, Nov. 10, following the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Del Mar."

The Keeneland November sale catalogs broodmares, broodmare prospects, weanlings, horses of racing age, stallions, stallion prospects, and shares. Last year's sale topper was grade 1 winner Concrete Rose , who was consigned by Lane's End, agent for Ashbrook Farm and BBN Racing, and sold to Larry Best's OXO Equine for $1.95 million.

Entries are open for the Keeneland November sale. The entry deadline is Aug. 2.
