Three-time winner Egyptian Missile (by Smart Missile ), who is a daughter of group 1 winner Egyptian Raine and half sister to dual group 3 winner Egyptian Symbol, will be set for a cover by champion sire elect Written Tycoon after topping the Inglis Digital July (Late) Sale, selling for AU$230,000 (US$169,389) to Cunningham Thoroughbreds and Clarke Bloodstock.
She was consigned by her trainer Bjorn Baker, who trained Egyptian Symbol, and who purchased her for AU$240,000 ($187,800) as a yearling from the 2018 Magic Millions January Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
"She's going to visit Written Tycoon this coming season and will then head up to Ridgmont Farm in Scone," Mitchell Cunningham of Cunningham Thoroughbreds said.
"She obviously showed a lot of ability early on, running behind Libertini first up in the listed Woodlands Stakes as a 2-year-old. It's a progressive family and one full of quality fillies; there's her three-quarter sister Cellsabeel, while Egyptian Symbol has an I Am Invincible colt on the ground and is back in foal to him again."
Elsewhere, the Phoenix Thoroughbreds-owned group 3 winner Holyfield (I Am Invincible) sold to her trainer Annabel Neasham for AU$180,000 ($132,565). The pair were two of six lots to sell for AU$100,000 or more, as 247 Thoroughbreds changed hands for aggregate revenue of AU$3.45 million ($2,540,830).
