First-time starter Humor Vice scored comfortably at Hipodromo de las Americas March 20 and became the first winner for graded/group winner Regal Ransom  
 
Trained by Enrique Garcia Perez for owner Cuadra Phoenix, Humor Vice won by 2 1/2 lengths with J. A. Ambrosio aboard and covered 2 1/2 furlongs in :28.40. The filly was bred in New York by Westerly Horse Farm and Tammy L. Jacobs. Her dam is the winning Affirmed mare Special Virtue
 
Regal Ransom placed in half of his 16 career starts, winning four races. At age 3 in 2009, he defeated Blame   in the Super Derby (gr. II) and also won the Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group U.A.E. Derby (UAE-II) at Nad Al Sheba. He retired with career earnings of $1,894,835 in a four-season campaign.
 
Regal Ransom is a 9-year-old son of Distorted Humor   out of the Red Ransom mare Kelli's Ransom, who also produced multiple grade I winner Devil May Care. Regal Ransom, who stands in 2015 for a $5,000 fee at Darley in Lexington, has 47 2-year-olds in his first crop.
