The Kodi Kid consigned as Lot 24 in the Tattersalls August Online Sale

The Tattersalls Online August 17 Sale was jointly headed by The Kodi Kid and Rotten Row who both sold for 26,000 guineas ($37,812) to Paul Wildes and Timmy O'Byrne respectively. A total of 12 Lots sold for an aggregate of 120,500 guineas (US$175,248) in the sixth sale to be held on the Tattersalls Online platform.

The Kodi Kid was a comfortable winner of his most recent start at Chester for Andrew Balding, earning an official rating of 87. Consigned by Andrew Balding's Park House Stables, Paul Wildes saw off a number of bidders to secure the progressive 3-year-old gelding for 26,000 guineas ($37,812). Andrew Balding voiced his support for the platform following another successful sale.

"We have had a consistently positive experience when offering horses on the Tattersalls Online platform, and this is another pleasing result. It's a cost-effective and easy way to sell horses," said Balding.

The sale also featured spirited competition for several promising National Hunt prospects, including the joint top lot Rotten Row. Offered by Joseph O'Brien's Carriganog Racing, the winning bid was struck by Timmy O'Byrne for the 4-year-old son of Leading Light . An impressive winner of his only start in a National Hunt flat race at Roscommon, Rotten Row boasts a similarly promising pedigree, out of a half-sister to the grade 1 winner Chasing Cars.

Tom Malone struck at 20,000 guineas ($29,0867) for the winning hurdler Cobra Angel, a 7-year-old daughter of Flemensfirth  consigned by Chris Down Racing, and expressed his support for the Tattersalls Online platform.

"The online sales represent another opportunity to buy a horse, and definitely deserve our backing. We all get orders to buy a particular horse that sometimes you can't find, but these sales really help with that process. I'm delighted to be a part of it," said Down.

After the conclusion of the Tattersalls Online August 17 Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented, "The Tattersalls Online platform continues to prove its worth as a convenient alternative to conventional sales, and our sixth online sale has again shown consistent demand from buyers at all levels of the market for the diverse range of flat and National Hunt prospects offered. Our next online sale will be held on September 15. We are also looking forward to holding our first Tattersalls Online sale exclusively for point-to-pointers and National Hunt prospects in December and we are confident that the Tattersalls Online platform will continue to broaden its appeal to both domestic and international buyers."

The next sale to be held on the Tattersalls Online platform will be held on September 15 with the closing date for initial entries on Wednesday, September 1.

Tattersalls Online will also host an online sale for select Point to Pointers and NH Horses In Training to take place from Thursday, December 16 to Friday, December 17. Select entries will be accepted for the sale from Point to Points at Borris House, Boulta and Corbagh House in Ireland and UK Point to Point meetings held on the weekend of December 13-14.

All lots will be sold with pre-sale veterinary certificates, race replays, and conformation videos and the catalog will be published online on Monday, December 13.
