Technical Analysis wins the Lake George Stakes at Saratoga Race Course

Klaravich Stables' Technical Analysis  will test the graded waters again as she aims for back-to-back scores during the current Saratoga Race Course meet.

The daughter of Kingman  leads the field of six 3-year-old fillies in the Aug. 21, $200,000 Lake Placid Stakes (G2T), run at 1 1/16 miles on the Mellon turf course. She is the only one in the field to have won her last race, capturing her first stakes in her fifth career start in the July 23 Lake George Stakes (G3T) at the Spa. She stalked the pace in third in that mile race before going on for a 1 1/4-length score.

"We're going in there getting her back to a mile and a sixteenth," trainer Chad Brown said. "She seems to be doing well. We've always thought a lot of her."

Technical Analysis will carry the high weight of 122 pounds, spotting her rivals two-four pounds apiece. Klaravich Stables paid the equivalent of $258,110 for the Irish-bred filly when she was consigned by New England Stud to Book 1 of the 2019 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

Also coming back from the Lake George is fourth-place finisher Runaway Rumour . Trained by Jorge Abreu for owner/breeder Lawrence Goichman, the New York-bred Flintshire   filly was previously undefeated in three starts. She rallied to win the June 26 Wild Applause Stakes going a mile at Belmont Park in her stakes debut and first start against open company.

Godolphin's Lovestruck  comes back off a fading eighth-place run in the Wild Applause, her lone start of the year. The Bill Mott trainee won both of her starts at 2, topped by the Nov. 29 Tepin Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack. She races with blinkers coming off.

Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, Michael Hernon, and Gary Barber's Spanish Loveaffair  faces softer stakes company after fading from second to finish eighth in the July 10 Belmont Oaks Invitational (G1T) at 1 1/4 miles. The Karakontie   filly won her first of four starts this year, the Feb. 27 Herecomesthebride Stakes (G3T) at Gulfstream Park, and months later was second, beaten less than a length, after dueling on the front end of the May 29 Regret Stakes (G3T) at Churchill Downs

Trainer Rusty Arnold will place Reiko and Michael Baum's Illiogami  back on turf for the Lake Placid. The Tapit   daughter made her first two starts on the surface, placing once, before winning two races on the main track. Last out she was last of five in the June 26 Mother Goose Stakes (G2) at Belmont, her stakes debut.

"She's doing well; she didn't run that well in the Mother Goose, which was a disappointment, but her first two races started off good," Arnold said. "We're hoping it's a case where she just didn't handle the dirt. We got her here in Saratoga but we weren't ready for the first opportunity, and this one just set up a little bit better. We really didn't have a break based on any intentions, it's just the way it worked out.

"She's been good since she's been here."

Completing the field is Rebecca Hillen's Ego Trip , who was second when unveiled in England and then runner-up again in her stateside debut in maiden company July 24 at Saratoga for trainer Brendan Walsh.
