Tripoli Catches Tizamagician in Pacific Classic

Engaging pacesetter Tizamagician at the head of the stretch, Hronis Racing's Tripoli pulled clear down the lane to score a mild 6-1 upset in the $1 million TVG Pacific Classic (G1) Aug. 21 at Del Mar.
Tizamagician held second, and eastern invader Dr Post ran third. Sheriff Brown was fourth.
The winner, a 4-year-old son of Kitten's Joy trained by John Sadler and ridden by Tiago Pereira, raced 1 1/4 miles on a fast track in 2:02.37. He paid $15 to win.
The Pacific Classic served as a "Win and You're In" qualifier for the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) Nov. 6 at Del Mar.
