Klaravich Stable's Technical Analysis  collected her second consecutive graded stakes at Saratoga Race Course with a handy gate-to-wire score in the Aug. 21 $200,000 Lake Placid Stakes (G2T) for sophomore fillies.

In the Chad Brown pupil's previous start, the July 23 Lake George Stakes (G3T), regular rider Jose Ortiz tucked the filly just off the leaders, where she rated kindly before spurting clear from her rivals in the final eighth of a mile. Following sharp tally over the Saratoga lawn, the daughter of Kingman  was awarded even-money favoritism against a field of six in the Lake Placid.

This time, the bay filly broke on top and found herself in front as the race was underway. Joined on the outside by the Casse-trained Spanish Loveaffair , Ortiz guided Technical Analysis through an early pace of :24.68 and :50.03 over the yielding turf course. As the field turned for home, Technical Analysis opened up on Spanish Loveaffair and veered four-wide on bend before being corrected and straightened out by Ortiz in the sprint for the wire. Under strong right-handed urging, Technical Analysis kept to her task, driving home a 3 1/2 length winner over Runaway Rumour .

The maiden Ego Trip , making her stakes debut for trainer Brendan Walsh, got up for third over a tiring Spanish Loveaffair. Illiogami  and Lovestruck  completed the order of finish.

Contested over a turf rated as yielding, Technical Anaylsis stopped the timer in 1:46.49 for 1 1/16 miles. She paid $4.20 to win.

"We knew there was no speed in there, so our options were limited," said Ortiz. "We didn't want to get stuck being behind a slow pace. The turf was pretty soft, but this filly is bred in Ireland and she liked it. I've ridden her before on (good) turf and I knew she was going to handle it well. I knew it would be to our advantage."

Trainer Chad Brown likened the Irish-bred to another star grass mare he trained, champion turf female and Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1T) heroine Dayatthespa .

"...As (Dayatthespa) got older, she showed a lot of speed and went to the lead. I can see a lot of similarities with this horse, so I'm not going to take anything away from her," said Brown. "The more we work with this horse, she just keeps getting faster and stronger and bigger. Too often, we've been caught in these paceless races where sometimes we have the best horse and it blows up on you. So, if my horses have some speed, like this one, I'm going to send them out there."

Technical Analysis was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock Limited in Ireland. She was purchased by Klaravich for the equivalent of $258,109 at the 2019 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. Hailing from the family of Melbourne Cup (G1) hero Rekindling, Technical Analysis is the first foal out of the unraced Sea the Stars  mare Sealife, who has an unnamed 2-year-old colt by Shamardal and a yearling filly by Pivotal .

With a record of four wins from six starts, Technical Analysis increased her earnings to $298,200 after Saturday's win.

"She's a high-energy horse and my team has just done a fabulous job with her," Brown said. "We've found a few things to sweeten her up and get along with her and it's really working... I just see a horse that I'm hoping to again run longer and longer, now that we're starting to see the best of her, particularly the best of her mentally."
