As a full brother to the joint 2018 world champion and four-time group 1 winner Cracksman , Frantastic will attract plenty of attention ahead of his debut at Doncaster for the Gosdens and owner-breeder Anthony Oppenheimer.
The 2-year-old colt is the seventh foal out of Oppenheimer's high-class producer Rhadegunda , a listed-winning daughter of Pivotal and the granddaughter of the influential One Thousand Guineas (G1) and Sussex Stakes (G1) heroine On the House .
It is also the family of another Oppenheimer champion in Investec Derby (G1) and Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) hero Golden Horn .
Rhadegunda's most notable offspring to date is Cracksman, winner of two successive QIPCO Champion Stakes (G1), the Prix Ganay-Prix de l'Inauguration de Parislongchamp (G1), and Investec Coronation Cup (G1), and crowned European champion and joint world champion—with Winx —in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Cracksman was subsequently retired to Dalham Hall Stud for the 2019 breeding season and his first crop of yearlings are going under the hammer this term.
Frantastic is also a half brother to Candy Kittens Solario Stakes (G3) winner Fantastic Moon , a son of Dalakhani who stands at Haras du Taillis, and a full brother to the once-raced Hopefully Darling. Their dam produced a Frankel full brother this year and has a yearling colt by the dual world champion.
Among Frantastic's nine rivals in the class 2 British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes are Shadwell homebred Israr, a son of Muhaarar and the great Taghrooda ; Treble Joy, a Kitten's Joy colt out of a half sister to 2010 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G2T) winner Pluck ; and Chef de Partie, bred by Blue Diamond Stud and a Siyouni half brother to group winner Extra Elusive and out of an unraced half sister to Tantina , the dam of Cityscape and Bated Breath .
