Horse Rescue Hosts Benefit Concert - September 11, 2021
WHAT: Days End Farm Horse Rescue, a nationally recognized animal welfare nonprofit organization that ensures quality care and treatment of horses through intervention, education, and outreach, is hosting the Days End Farm Horse Rescue Benefit Concert featuring The 19th Street Band with proceeds going to our life-saving programs for equines in need! This one-night event will be set under the stars at one of Maryland's premier horse farms. With popular food trucks, the Hops For Horses Beer/Wine Truck, a chance to buy DEFHR swag, lawn games for the kids, and special twilight tours of the farm to see and meet our rescue horses, there is plenty of fun for the whole family.
The 19th Street Band has entertained crowds at festivals such as the Charm City Bluegrass Festival, National Cherry Blossom Festival, Kingman Island Bluegrass Festival, and Maryland Irish Festival. They perform well over 200 shows a year, and the band has packed the house at venues such as the 9:30 Club, The 8×10, The Hamilton, and The Soundry. They have had the honor of opening for country music stars such as Rodney Atkins, Craig Morgan, and Chuck Mead, as well as for Grammy Award-winning Western Swing icons and Asleep at the Wheel.
Characterized by high energy and strong vocal harmonies, The 19th Street Band brings together a constellation of Americana, country, and rock with a taste of punk. They ignite an audience with their passion for music, magnetic presence, and enthusiasm. With a soft spot for equine welfare, they are a staple at DEFHR fundraisers. This talented group is not to be missed as they support the horses in raising much-needed funds for their care!
Gates open at 5 pm, and the music starts at 6 pm. Parking is onsite and is first-come, first-serve until lots are full.
Feast on fare from local food trucks Grilled Cheese Please, Rollin' Smoke BBQ, and Bennett's Grill.
WHY: Come by for a night out in Maryland horse country, watching the sunset over our fields, while swaying to the music of The 19th St Band. Enjoy a cold drink and dinner, knowing that money raised is going to the horses and allows us to continue our life-saving work in the community and neighboring states.
