The annual Jockeys' Guild Assembly will be held Jan. 27-28, 2014, at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla.
The gathering of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse riders from across the U.S. will focus on topics including racetrack contributions, membership as well as health, safety, and insurance. Also, an awards dinner will be held in honor of top Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred jockeys as well as others who have made significant contributions to the Jockeys' Guild.
"Once again this year, we are holding the Assembly in South Florida in close proximity to Gulfstream Park and Hialeah, both conducting live racing," said Terry Meyocks, National Manager of the Jockeys' Guild. "It's in the best interest of all our members to make every effort to join us to provide input and feedback on the issues and future priorities of the Guild."
Thoroughbred jockey John Velazquez chairs the Guild and Quarter Horse rider G. R. Carter is vice chair.
