Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum's Mubtaahij saved ground early before being swung three wide by Christophe Soumillon for the stretch drive where he seized the lead and drew off to an easy victory in the $2 million Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group UAE Derby (UAE-II) Saturday, March 28 at Meydan.
The Irish-bred 3-year-old son of Dubawi has won four of his five starts on dirt. He is trained by Mike de Kock who will point Mubtaahij to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).
