Supplemental Catalog for OBS October Sale Released

A yearling sells in the ring at the OBS October Sale

Seventeen selected yearlings and 32 open yearlings have been supplemented to the Ocala Breeders' Sales October Yearling Sale that will take place Oct. 12-13. The supplemental catalog is now available at obssales.com and available in printed form on the OBS sales grounds.

The supplemented selected yearlings will sell as Hips 136-152. The yearlings that have been added to the open yearling sale will sell as Hips 565-596.

The Selected Yearling Sale begins Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. ET with Hips 1-152. The Open Yearling Sale, now cataloged as Hips 201-596, is Oct. 13 and will begin at 11 a.m.

The supplemental catalog boasts an impressive roster of sires not represented in the original October catalog. The late Empire Maker  heads the list which includes Ghostzapper  , Honor Code  , Liam's Map  , Mo Tom , Twirling Candy  , Uncle Mo  , and Union Rags  .

Classic winner Always Dreaming   is represented in the supplemental as well as in the original catalog, as are Bolt d'Oro  , Good Magic  , Good Samaritan  , Hard Spun  , Mendelssohn  , Tapwrit  , and Violence  .

OBS October Yearling graduates have been busy since the publication of the original catalog.

Exline-Border Racing, SAF Racing, and Richard Hausman's Lady Mystify  was a three-length winner of the Sept. 26 Remington Park Oaks (G3) at Remington Park. The 3-year-old daughter of Bernardini   is a two-time OBS graduate. Sold by Summerfield (Francis and Barbara Vanlangendonck), agent, at the 2019 October sale, she was first picked up by Patrice Miller/EQB, agent, for $120,000. She returned in the 2020 Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training with Niall Brennan Stables, selling for $325,000 to Marette Farrell, agent for Exline-Border Racing. To date she has earned $217,520.

LNJ Foxwoods' Outfoxed  romped to a 9 1/4-length victory in the Sept. 25 FTBOA Florida Sire My Dear Girl Stakes at Gulfstream Park. The 2-year-old Florida-bred filly by Valiant Minister   is also a two-time OBS graduate. Sold first by Abbie Road Farm at the 2020 October sale to Jesse Hoppel for $27,000, she brought $360,000 from Solis/Litt at this year's Spring sale when consigned by Coastal Equine. Outfoxed has banked $372,000.

Monarch Stables' Last Leaf  made her stakes debut a successful one in the Sept. 25 Hollywood Beach Stakes at Gulfstream Park. The 2-year-old Not This Time   filly, another two-time OBS graduate, most recently was purchased for $23,500 by Frank Bertolino out of the Kaizen Sales consignment at the 2020 October sale. She has earnings of $107,490.

On Sept. 18, Full of Run Racing and Madaket Stables' Dreamalildreamofu  won the Twixt Stakes at Laurel Park. The 4-year-old Commissioner  daughter, a two-time OBS graduate, sold first at the 2018 October Selected Yearling Sale for $15,000 to Advanced Thoroughbreds out of Kinsman Farm's consignment. She was then purchased for $65,000 out of the Advanced Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2019 June Sale of 2-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age by Full of Run Racing for $65,000. Her earnings stand at $289,403.

OBS will again offer online bidding during the October sale. Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS bidding screen with their credentials.
