Mendelssohn wins the 2017 Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar
Breeders' Cup announced post times Sept. 30 for its two-day event Nov. 5-6 at Del Mar. There will be 14 Breeders' Cup races and eight undercard races over the two cards with total purses and awards of more than $31 million.
The official race order and wagering menu for both days will be announced Oct. 27.
Future Stars Friday kicks off Breeders' Cup, featuring five Breeders' Cup races for 2-year-olds. There will also be five undercard races preceding the first Breeders' Cup race on the 10-race program, with the first race post time at 11:55 a.m. PT. The first Breeders' Cup event that day will be race 6 with a post time of 2:50 p.m. PT. The last race of the card will be the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf presented by Coolmore America (G1T) at 5:30 p.m.
Last year the $2 million TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1) concluded Future Stars Friday at Keeneland.
There will be 12 races Nov. 6, topped by nine Breeders' Cup races. The first race post time will be 10:15 a.m. PT and the initial Breeders' Cup race will the fourth, which will go off at 12:05 p.m. PT.
The card wraps up with the $6 million Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) as the 12th race at 5:40 p.m. PT.
