Keeneland Releases Catalog for November Sale

The 78th Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale will offer 3,594 horses in the breeding stock and weanling portion of the sale to be held Nov. 10-19 in Lexington. The catalog is now available online and print catalogs will be mailed around Oct. 15. 

The sale will offer 2,159 broodmares and broodmare prospects, 1,432 weanlings, and three stallions or stallion prospects. This year's November sale will also offer a single session dedicated to horses of racing age that will take place the final day—immediately following 148 cataloged head of breeding stock. Because Keeneland extended the entry deadline for the racehorse segment until Oct. 4, information about the offerings will be posted online in mid-October and appear in a separate print catalog available on the grounds.

Keeneland will continue to accept supplements to Book 1 of the November sale and to the horses of racing age portion until the auction begins.

For the November sale, Keeneland once again will offer online and phone bidding to accommodate buyers who cannot attend.

The November sale will span 10 days and kick off with Book 1 on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The opening session will begin at 1 p.m. ET with a total of 221 horses cataloged.

All remaining sessions will begin at 10 a.m., with Books 2-5 scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 11 through Friday, Nov. 19.

Other notable young stallions with their first in-foal mares in the catalog include champions Game Winner  , Improbable  , and Maximum Security  ; Kentucky Derby winner Country House  ; Preakness Stakes (G1) winner War of Will  ; Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) winner Tiz the Law  , and grade 1 winners Complexity  , Echo Town  , Gift Box  , Global Campaign  , Honor A. The November sale catalog also includes the final mares in foal to Bernardini  , Laoban  , and Malibu Moon  .

A total of 162 stallions are represented by weanlings in the November sale catalog. Sires with their first weanlings in the catalog include champions Mitole   and Vino Rosso  ; grade 1 winners Audible  , Catholic Boy  , Omaha Beach, Preservationist  , World of Trouble  , and Yoshida  ; grade 2 winners Catalina Cruiser  , Enticed  , and Maximus Mischief  ; and grade 3 winner Demarchelier  .

Knicks Go Leads Sales Graduates

Topping the list of accomplished horses of 2021 who sold at the November sale as weanlings is multiple grade 1 winner Knicks Go , who is ranked No. 1 on the latest National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top Thoroughbred Poll and is a leading contender for the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) Nov. 6 at Del Mar.

Other 2021 grade 1 winners who were weanlings when they were offered at the November sale include Maxim Rate  (Gamely Stakes), Pinehurst  (Runhappy Del Mar Futurity), Shedaresthedevil  (La Troienne Stakes Presented by Twinspires.com and Clement L. Hirsch Stakes), and War Like Goddess  (Flower Bowl Stakes). Shedaresthedevil was also sold at the November sale as a horse of racing age.

Another standout of 2021 who was sold as a weanling at the November sale is Safe Conduct , winner of the Queen's Plate.
