Grade 1 winner Mischevious Alex  will become the first son of two-time leading North American sire Into Mischief   to stand at stud in Japan starting next year, according to an Oct. 8 announcement from the Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association.

The 4-year-old colt is expected to be exported to Japan in mid-November and then located to Shizunai Stallion Station on Hokkaido, according to JBBA.

Bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm, Mischevious Alex is out of the winning Speightstown   daughter White Pants Night. The mare is a half sister to grade 2-placed, grade 3 winner Hebbronville , grade 2-placed stakes winner Master of Disaster , and to stakes winner and Woodbine track record setter A Day for Dancing .

Mischevious Alex was sold for $75,000 to Eisaman Equine at the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale out of the Taylor Made Sales Agency consignment. Eisaman then offered him at the 2019 Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale where he was a $140,000 buy-back.

The colt wound up in Chuck Zacney's Cash is King Stable with trainer John Servis. Mischevious Alex won his debut in near gate-to-wire fashion by a head at Parx Racing. He was tried in stakes competition in his third start where he finished third by three-quarters of a length in the Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park. Back at Parx, Mischevious Alex won his first stakes by an impressive 9 3/4 lengths in the Parx Juvenile Stakes.

At 3, Mischevious Alex continued to improve and Cash is King took on LC Racing as a partner. He won his sophomore debut in the Swale Stakes (G3) by seven lengths and followed that romp with a two-length win in the Gotham Stakes (G3).

After two unplaced finishes in grade 1 stakes, the colt got a long break and came back at 4 with trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. to prove he belonged among the best sprinters in the country. He won the Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes (G3) by 3 1/4 lengths and then captured the Carter Handicap (G1) by 5 1/2 lengths over multiple grade 1 winner Mind Control .

Mischevious Alex finished third in this year's Hill 'n' Dale Metropolitan Handicap (G1) by 1 3/4 lengths to Silver State  and By My Standards   before winding up the year with two unplaced finishes in grade 1 stakes. He retires with a 7-1-2 record from 15 starts and earned $734,355.

The cross of Spendthrift Farm's Into Mischief with daughters by Speightstown has been exceptionally successful, having produced five stakes winners from 17 foals of racing age. This cross has also produced grade 1 winner Mia Mischief  and grade 2 winner Engage .
