Caravel wins the Caress Stakes at Saratoga Race Course

Grade 1 producer Hard to Resist  and graded stakes winner Caravel  are among the seven initial supplemental entries Fasig-Tipton has cataloged to its 2021 November Sale. The supplemental entries are cataloged as Hips 260-266.

Hard to Resist (Hip 264) is a stakes-winning daughter of Johannesburg  out of the winning Gulch mare Anja. She is the dam of Going to Vegas , winner of the Oct. 2 Rodeo Drive Stakes (G1T) at Santa Anita Park. A leader in the California female turf division with three graded stakes wins in 2021, Going to Vegas is pointing for the Maker's Mark Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1T) Nov. 6 at Del Mar for her next start. Hard to Resist is in foal to leading California sire Grazen . She will be consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.

Caravel (Hip 265), a brilliant 4-year-old daughter of Mizzen Mast  , has captured three stakes victories this year sprinting on the turf. Among these wins was a dominant victory in the July 24 Caress Stakes (G3T) at Saratoga Race Course. She also earned a top-level placing when facing males in the Aug. 22 Highlander Stakes (G1T) at Woodbine. A registered Pennsylvania-bred, she has five career stakes wins, seven total wins from 11 starts, and current earnings of $400,169. Caravel is a homebred for Elizabeth Merryman, who now co-owns the filly with celebrity chef Bobby Flay. She is out of the winning Congrats mare Zeezee Zoomzoom. Her second is dam is multiple stakes winner, multiple graded-placed Zee Zee, by Exchange Rate. Caravel is consigned as a racing or broodmare prospect by ELiTE, agent.
