Stoke City Football Club star Michael Owen is a major force in British soccer, and he’s become a prominent racehorse owner in his native Great Britain as well. The Stoke City striker owns 90 horses on his 160-acre Manor House Stables.
He says on his website that horse racing has become a huge part of his life: "My main passions in life have always been my family and football, but I suppose a close third, as a hobby, is horse racing. The joy of owning a racehorse is indescribable, from buying them as youngsters, watching them develop and seeing their first visit to a racecourse. I have owned horses for many years and although the majority of my time is spent training at Stoke City, whenever I have time off, if I don't have a club engagement or family commitment, I pop down to the stables to see the horses."
