Sixteen Twitter Accounts to Follow for the Keeneland Meet

Description:

Spring officially arrives in Kentucky this Friday with the start of the Keeneland race meet in Lexington. The boutique meet always showcases some of the finest spring racing, horses and fashion, and the crowd is generally young and fairly laid back. Whether you're headed out to Keeneland for the first time or you're a regular, there are many helpful personalities and companies on Twitter that can help enhance the experience. Here are some of my top picks for Twitter accounts to follow for everything that Keeneland has to offer.
1. @KeenelandRacing

The official account for Keeneland is one of the best track accounts when it comes to photos. If you take a look at the account right now, you'll already find a bunch of really great photos posted of horses working out ahead of the meet.
2. @BeckerTrackside

Kurt Becker is "the voice of Keeneland" and one of the most recognizable voices in racing, at that. He has a really sharp eye and posts some great observations on his feed.
3. @GardnerDee

G.D. Hieronymus is the Director of Broadcast Services at Keeneland and he's on the pulse of everything going on in and around the track. Plus, he and a few friends once hit a Pick-6 at the Breeders' Cup for $3-million. So yeah, he's good in my book, and he obviously knows his stuff.
4. @KatieGensler

A handicapper and paddock reporter at Keeneland, Katie posts some great updates and photos from the track. Definitely a must-follow if you're playing the races.
5. @BH_CNovak

Claire Novak is an Eclipse-Award winning writer who covers a lot of the action at Keeneland. Stay glued to her account for racing updates, stories and great photos.
6. @VisitLexKY

The official account for Lexington's Convention and Visitors Bureau is a key follow if you're looking for things to do before and after your day at the races. From suggestions on local bars and food trucks to events going on around town, Visit Lex has got you covered.
7. @KeenelandPicks

If you're headed to Keeneland, there's a good chance you're going to party. If you haven't had a chance to handicap, Keeneland Picks posts free picks on its account for every day of the Keeneland meet.
8. @ShopKeeneland

If you're headed to the races, you'll definitely want to check out the Keeneland Gift Shop. By following the shop's account, you'll also get notices and updates on discounts.
9. @CamhatsNYC

New York-based hat designer Christine Moore will actually be at the Keeneland Gift Shop for opening day on Friday. Christine has been a big supporter of ABR, and she and her awesome partner @Camhats_Blake have even designed a sharp looking fedora for yours truly.
10. @DRFMcGee

Marty McGee covers Kentucky racing for the Daily Racing Form. He'll be on top of all the racing news you'll need from the track, including information on the horses running, changes and final results.
11. @KennyMcPeek

Trainer Kenny McPeek is a regular at Keeneland meets, plus he and his team are behind the HorseRacesNow app. Follow for great photos and insight.
12. @DRFRusso

Another one of the Daily Racing Form's Kentucky-based staff members, Nicole Russo posts a lot of great content ranging from race info to photos.
13. @GrahamMotion

Kentucky Derby-winning trainer Graham Motion always brings a good string to Keeneland and is very active on Twitter. He was co-leading trainer for the 2014 fall Keeneland meet, and he's a great follow for the Keeneland meet and beyond.
14. @MKJohnson6

ABR Brand Ambassador Mike Johnson will be at Keeneland for part of the spring meet. If you're headed to Lexington, give him a shot. Tell him Dan sent you. He'll hook it up!
15. @DanonymousMan

I don't always have time to handicap an entire Keeneland card but I'll generally take a look at the big races on any given day. Feel free to shoot me any questions you might have about the races. Even if I haven't handicapped a particular race, I'll know someone who has.
16. @ABRLive

America's Best Racing will be on-site at Keeneland during the meet and is, as always, a great source for photos and updates from the track - both of the racing and the atmosphere at Keeneland.
