America’s Best Racing and DerbyJackpot team up to provide horseplayers with their best bets of the weekend in a regular feature blog that will run on Fridays.
Each week, one of our crack handicappers - Jose Contreras, Dan Tordjman, Victoria Garofalo or Cory Moelis – will provide at least one “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a win bet.
The post also will include some combination of additional bets for the weekend.
For some posts, our handicappers will try to identify a longshot play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a win bet or to take a shot with a show bet.
Our handicappers also will look for strong exacta plays for the weekend or occasionally try to spot a nice opportunity to bet a trifecta or superfecta.
Place your bets at DerbyJackpot. It's the easiest and most fun online horse betting site out there. Races open for betting about five minutes before post time. Place your bets and you can walk away with some extra cash in your pocket.

Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Keeneland, Race 7, Commonwealth Stakes, 4:05 p.m. ET
#7 C. Zee: He comes into this race in the best shape of his career and his stalking style seems to suit this race perfectly. The outside post should allow him to evaluate how the race shapes up after the break and give him a clear path through the lane to avoid traffic trouble.
Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Santa Anita Park, Race 7, Santa Anita Oaks 6 p.m. ET
#5 Luminance: Although she was favored in her most recent win, her effort was visually impressive given that is was her first race since July 2014. It also was her first try going two turns. The key to that effort was how she overcame a slow start and some traffic trouble early in the race to come away with the win. She might offer some fair odds given that I expect Stellar Wind, Light the City, and Glory to take some significant betting support.

Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Gulfstream Park, Race 2, 1:30 p.m. ET
#3 Trio of Mischief: He was beaten by less than four lengths last time out against a tougher field when he finished fifth in a group of 10. He’s taking a small drop in class and shows a good gate workout since his last race. This easier field might be all he needs to fire and deliver an improved effort.
Best Bet (Win Bet/Monkey Bet)
Santa Anita Park, Race 3, 4:30 p.m. ET
#1 Love On the Road: This gelding is making his debut after a series of solid workouts and he is facing a field that lacks a legitimate standout. His trainer does send out debut winners from time to time, and his jockey has been doing well lately. There is not a ton of speed in this group, and I would imagine he might be going to the lead from the inside draw.
