The New York Racing Association has officially re-launched its
NYRA.com website, utilizing new technology and featuring a reconfigured, user-friendly layout, NYRA announced April 3.
NYRA.com visitors who live in New York will now have the option of signing up for a NYRA Rewards account. This will offer them all the benefits of a basic NYRA.com account plus the ability to wager on the NYRA.com website. Current NYRA Rewards members will gain instant access to the new wagering interface by signing in at NYRA.com with their existing login and password.
"We are excited to present a more dynamic, integrated, interactive, and technologically-advanced experience for our online guests," NYRA chief executive officer and president Christopher Kay said. "Utilizing a state-of-the-art high definition platform, horseplayers and racing fans alike can now access new, unique camera angles, incorporate social media feeds, and experience all of the action in both English and Spanish."
The new high-definition video page, an industry first that was initially previewed in October, allows online guests to view live streaming NYRA races in HD from multiple user-selected camera feeds with the ability to watch two different feeds simultaneously. These digital feeds include the standard NYRA live racing feed, the Spanish language feed, the head-on camera, paddock camera, and a camera that overlooks the stretch. The page will also offer recordings of popular NYRA content, including the "Talking Horses" handicapping show.
"Our new wagering interface utilizes a modern design that was based on customer feedback," NYRA chief revenue officer David O'Rourke said. "The platform has an intuitive and easy-to-learn layout while also employing a number of new features that experienced horseplayers will enjoy."
The new wagering platform will provide users with a fully customizable experience, with options to save their favorite tracks and races for easy access, and change the appearance of the main menu, bet slip, video section, and various program pages. Another enhancement is found within the video experience, which will now allow users to stack live video streams for multiple tracks and hide them with one click of the mouse.
The central race card section of the new platform offers users an unprecedented amount of information on each runner without having to leave the page, including lifetime statistics for the horse, jockey, and trainer, race replays, pedigree information, and exotic will-pays and probables. The wagering pane allows users to queue bets before placing them, allowing the convenience of holding bets for placing at a later time or examining possible betting and hedging scenarios.
In addition, a newly-enhanced mobile site for NYRA Rewards members is accessible for users with Apple iOS and Android devices. Located at
m.nyrarewards.com, the new mobile site has been redesigned with a more user-friendly layout, providing ease of use for members on the go.
The launch of the retooled NYRA.com will also allow customers who sign up for a free basic account to gain access to live streaming high-definition races from Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga on their mobile devices—utilizing the official NYRA HD app—along with on the NYRA Roku channel.
In addition to its online enhancements, NYRA debuted a new package of TV graphics starting April 1. Featuring a sleek and modern look, the new graphics package is designed to take full advantage of current HD technology to provide an unparalleled viewing experience. These advancements reflect continued commitment towards utilizing the latest technology for the benefit of guests, horseplayers, and racing fans.
