While fog enveloped Del Mar as fans trickled in for the Breeders' Cup World Championships Friday Nov. 5 card, it was expected to yield to sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-60s ahead of the day's first race, scheduled for 11:55 p.m. PT (2:55 ET).

Five Breeders' Cup races for 2-year-olds will close out Friday's Del Mar card, ahead of nine more Breeders' Cup races Saturday. The first of the Friday Breeders' Cup races is the Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2T), Race 6, scheduled for 2:50 p.m. PT (5:50 p.m. ET).

The day's biggest scratch was reported Thursday as Champagne Stakes (G1) winner Jack Christopher , morning-line favorite in the $2 million TVG Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1), will not race in that 1 1/16-mile test.

The only other scratches in the Breeders' Cup races were horses on the also-eligible list. Thunder Love  and Sumter  are out of the Juvenile Turf Sprint. Thunder Love is expected to start in the day's fourth race, the Senator Ken Maddy Stakes, where she'll face older rivals as the race is for fillies and mares 2-and-older.

Scratched from the Juvenile Turf (G1T) are also-eligibles Ready to Purrform  and Detroit City .
