Lane's End Farm announced Nov. 13 that the Calumet Farm homebred Lexitonian will stand the 2022 season at their farm near Versailles, Ky.
An impressive 2-year-old debut winner at Belmont Park, the son of champion Speightstown went on to win the Chick Lang Stakes (G3) at Pimlico Race Course at 3 along with the Concern Stakes at Laurel Park before hitting the board in the Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes (G2) at Keeneland. At 4 he ran second by a nose to Collusion Illusion in the Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) at Del Mar. During his 5-year-old campaign this year, he ran second by a head to Flagstaff in the hotly contested Churchill Downs Stakes Presented by Ford (G1) on Kentucky Derby Day and scored a notable victory in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) at Saratoga Race Course, defeating 2020 champion male sprinter Whitmore and fellow grade 1 winners Mischevious Alex and Firenze Fire .
In the Vanderbilt, Lexitonian dueled for the lead before edging past Special Reserve by a half-length for the victory. He completed six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.38 after splits of :22.04 and :44.45.

"He's a horse who fights," said trainer Jack Sisterson. "He has the talent, the will, and the heart. He's a class act winning and placing second in multiple grade 1 races. I've had a tremendous amount of confidence in him throughout his career because you can run him over any track, and he always knows what to do."
Following the Vanderbilt, Lexitonian ran eighth in the Aug. 28 Forego Stakes at Saratoga and ninth in the Nov. 6 Qatar Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) at Del Mar. He holds an overall 5-2-2 record from 21 career starts with earnings of $718,682.
"We are thrilled that Calumet is entrusting us with a horse as special as Lexitonian is," said Bill Farish, general manager of Lane's End Farm. "He has been a consistent top-level performer at all stages of his racing career. He has the pedigree, racing ability, and soundness that we think will set him up for success at stud."
Lexitonian is the first foal out of the winning Tapit mare Riviera Romper , who foaled a full sister to the grade 1 winner this year and was bred back to Speightstown for 2022. Calumet purchased Riviera Romper when she was carrying Lexitonian for $310,000 from the Denali Stud consignment to the 2015 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. Riviera Romper is a daughter of Darley Test Stakes (G1) winner Swap Fliparoo and her fourth dam is Top Flight Handicap (G1) winner Flip's Pleasure.
Lexitonian will stand for an advertised fee of $10,000.
