

Greg Veit, administrator of the Ohio Thoroughbred Race Fund, died Nov. 10. He was 63.
Veit had been immersed in the Thoroughbred industry all his life. He began working for the Ohio State Racing Commission as the OTRF administrator in 2010 after serving as a horse trainer, caretaker, and valet. His favorite horse was September Dream, a 1981 son of Pocket Park, who he conditioned to 12 wins and $52,151 in earnings.
Veit is survived by his wife Neva; children Damian and Joseph; siblings Margaret, Susan, and Linda; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3-6:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, Nov. 17 at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Graveside burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 18 at Obetz Cemetery.
