Life Is Good, Knicks Go on Target for Pegasus Clash

Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner Knicks Go   departed Taylor Made Farm Nov. 17 for Brad Cox's barn at Churchill Downs in Louisville to ready for the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) Jan. 29 at Gulfstream Park. But another Breeders' Cup winner and Pegasus hopeful, Life Is Good , will stay in the Lexington area this month.

The Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner is in training at WinStar Farm in Versailles, receiving a short period to rejuvenate before traveling to South Florida to prepare for the 1 1/8-mile Pegasus.

"He's doing well. He's going to go down to (trainer) Todd (Pletcher) at Palm Beach Downs at the end of the month," said Elliott Walden, racing manager and president/CEO of WinStar Farm.

Owned by WinStar and China Horse Club, Life Is Good became a millionaire and grade 1 winner in winning the Dirt Mile, a race he took in front-running fashion by 5 3/4 lengths. The Into Mischief   colt is 5-for-6.

"He's extremely impressive. He came out of the race great," Walden said of Life Is Good. "I just saw him train at WinStar, galloped a mile and a quarter this morning, doing great."

The similarly speedy Knicks Go has been available for showings over the past week at Taylor Made, where he will begin stud duty next year, shortly after the Pegasus. Beginning in December, he will train at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots leading up to the Pegasus, Cox said.
