Miesque, Generous Feature Juvenile Turfers

Clenor, who suffered her first loss in the United States in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (gr. IT), will try to rebound in the $100,000 Miesque Stakes (gr. IIIT) Nov. 30 at Betfair Hollywood Park.



The Miesque is the second of two grade III races for 2-year-olds at one mile on the second day of Hollywood's annual Turf Festival. The Miesque, which attracted six fillies, is carded as race 4 with a 2:01 p.m. PST scheduled post. The other race, the Generous goes off an hour earlier as race 2 on the program. Stakes winner Aotearoa heads a six-horse field.



Owned by a partnership that includes Great Friends Stable, Robert Cseplo, and Steve Keh, and trained by Doug O’Neill, Clenor finished eighth in the Juvenile Fillies Turf Nov. 1 after winning her prior three starts in the U.S. including a pair of stakes.



An Irish-bred daughter of Oratorio, Clenor  captured the Juvenile Fillies Turf Sept. 2 at Del Mar and the Surfer Girl Oct. 6 at Santa Anita Park. In the Breeders' Cup she was left too far back in the 14-horse field by jockey Rafael Bejarano, trailing by as much as 10 lengths, and made no real bid after chasing four wide into the stretch to be beaten by 5 3/4.



Clenor breaks from post 3 with Joe Talamo aboard for the first time in the Miesque. The 122-pound highlight has won three of seven and earned $172,799.



Nesso set the pace but weakened to finish 10th in the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf at odds of 43-1. The daughter of Roman Ruler   was runner-up to Clenor in both earlier stakes tries at Del Mar and Santa Anita. The chestnut filly, to be ridden by Martin Garcia from gate 5, is owned by Amaty Racing Stables and trained by Vann Belvoir. She will race without blinkers for the first time in the Miesque.



Savings Account, trained by Tom Proctor for Heider Family Stables and Craig Bernick, broke her maiden by a nose over the Hollywood Park turf course at the Miesque distance Nov. 8. The gray daughter of Medaglia d'Oro  , who was making her third start in the maiden breaker, nipped favorite Sushi Empire, who also returns in the Miesque.



Wounded Warrior Stables's maiden Sushi Empire, a daughter of Empire Maker, was also making her third career start for trainer Eoin Harty that day.



Savings Account, who drew the rail, has a new rider in Aaron Gryder, subbing for Mike Smith who will be at Aqueduct. Mario Gutierrez climbs aboard Sushi Empire, who departs from post 2.



Love In The Desert will stretch out after finishing a distant fourth in her U.S. debut in the Juvenile Turf Sprint Nov. 2 at Santa Anita. An english-bred daughter of Lemon Drop Kid  , Love in the Desert had a win from four starts in her native country. She is now in the barn of Simon Callaghan.



A gate-to-wire maiden winner in her turf initiation at the Miesque distance Oct. 17 at Santa Anita, Full Ransom will make her Hollywood  debut for Deron Pearson and trainer Jim Cassidy. The daughter of Full Mandate debuted with a fourth going 5 1/2 furlongs Sept. 2 at Del Mar.



Aotearoa, who captured the Zuma Beach Stakes on the Santa Anita grass at one mile Oct. 6, enters the $100,000 Generous off a seventh-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (gr. IT) Nov 1.



Owned by breeder Paul Viskovich and trained by Leonard Powell, the Good Journey gelding has won two of four starts. He'll break from post 5 while carrying top weight of 122 pounds with Garcia aboard for the first time.



Pablo Del Monte won his first two starts for trainer Wesley Ward by a combined 12 1/2 lengths at Keeneland and makes his stakes debut. Ward bred the Giant's Causeway   colt in Florida out of the Bring the Heat mare One Hot Wish and owns him in partnership with Mrs. John Magnier, Derrick Smith, and Michael Tabor.



The chestnut won first time out by five lengths April 7, then returned more than six months later to take an allowance by 7 1/2 lengths over the same surface.



Trainer Proctor is represented in the Generous by Global View, a son of Galileo owned by Glen Hill Farm. Global View was successful in his first race on turf, winning a maiden affair down the hill at Santa Anita Oct. 27 by 1 3/4 lengths.



Royal Banker debuts in the U.S. for Harty and Wounded Warrior Stables after graduating in his second start by two lengths at Newcastle in Great Britain.



Callaghan enters the maiden Ontology, making his sixth consecutive stakes appearance, for Reddam Racing. The son of Tapit has had three runner-up finishes but was 10th last time in the BC Juvenile Turf after showing little on dirt in the FrontRunner Stakes (gr. I) before that.



Persisting was fourth against $30,000 maidens on Cushion Track in his lone start Nov. 15.
