Description:

America’s Best Racing brand ambassador Jose Contreras – whose puts his picks out for the public regularly on his own blog www.losponies.com - will help DerbyJackpot players with his insight in a regular blog feature for ABR.
Each week, Jose will give out his “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a “Monkey Bet” (a win bet) on DerbyJackpot, as well as his Lonshot Play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a Monkey Bet or to take a shot with “The Granny” (a show bet, or top-three finish).
Jose also will lay out either a quick-hitting Granny Parlay or a Gonzo Bet. The Granny Parlay essentialy is a bet in which players will have an opportunity to place one Granny bet after another on a sequence of four or five races within an hour or so of each other, essentially letting it ride as they go "all in" search of a nice return on investment. The idea of the parlay is to steadily grow your bankroll until you have a sizeable stash of cash to let it ride on the final leg for a nice payout. The Gonzo Bet requires players to select the first two finishers in a given race in order, the same as a traditional exacta bet.
Place your bets at DerbyJackpot. Races open for betting about five minutes before post time. It’s fun, it’s easy, and you can win cash. Open your account today.

Best Bet (Monkey Bet/Win Bet)
Saturday: Race 2, Saratoga Race Course (1:30 p.m. ET)
#4 Crescent: He finished a strong third in his debut when beaten only 2 ½ lengths when closing ground late. That race was at 5 furlongs and today he gets more ground when he goes 6 ½ furlongs on the main track. His trainer does very well with horses after they have gotten some racing experience, and this horse fits the bill. The winning horse of that debut race, Corfu, returned to win again in his next start.
Longshot play (Granny Bet/Show Bet)
Saturday: Race 8, Del Mar (5:40 p.m. PT)
#9 Pearlside: She was last seen when running second in a Group 2 race in France. She makes her U.S. debut for a trainer who has done well with imports over the years. She shows two good workouts on the Del Mar turf in preparation for this race. She faces a solid group today but she might prove to be dangerous in the stretch.
Exacta Box (Gonzo Bet)
Sunday: Race 3, Del Mar (3:09 p.m. PT)
#3 Rock This Way: Went off as the favorite in the last start when facing $20,000 claimers in an uncomfortable trip. The connections claimed him for $16,000 two starts ago and drop him to the $12,500 level today. Talamo gets the mount today, and he won with him two starts ago.
#6 Winsome Charm: His speed figures are consistent but he has been facing tougher competition. He has made three starts this year with two of those being sprint races; he drops in class and goes a route which he seems to prefer.
#7 Big Wags: He ran a good third last out at slightly higher level. He took the lead in the stretch and finished less than two lengths from the lead. He owns five wins at this distance and his jockey, Agapito Delgadillo, knows him well.
