A total of 21 wildcard entries have been added to the Tattersalls Ascot December Sale to complete a catalog of 89 Lots. The sale will commence from 11:00 a.m. in the sales ring situated adjacent to the Ascot Racecourse Stables Dec. 6.
The catalog consists of 11 yearlings, 58 Horses in Training, 12 Horses Out of Training, 2 Stores, and 5 Point-to-Pointers.
Wildcard entries of note include No Nonesense (Lot 47) consigned by George Boughey's Saffron House Stables. The son of Acclamation has some very good form to his name, including when placed in the Merriebelle Stable Pavilion Commonwealth Cup Trial (G3) at Ascot in 2019. He boasts an official BHA rating of 85.
Gordon Elliott's Cullentra House Stables will offer O Connell Street (Lot 66), a dual-winning son of Fame And Glory with an IHRB rating of 118 over fences. In his latest start, he placed third in a competitive handicap chase at Fairyhouse.
Leading Babe (Lot 68) consigned by Robbie Clancy is sure to attract plenty of interest after winning her Maiden point-to-point at Turtulla on her latest start in good style. The 5-year-old daughter of Leading Light is related to Tell Us More and Western Victory.
Yearlings on offer by Adaay , Bobby's Kitten , Brazen Beau , Charm Spirit , Fountain of Youth , Outstrip , Passing Glance , Phoenix Reach , Stimulation , and Washington DC .
The 2019 edition of the mixed sale concluded on an aggregate of £371,500 ($494,276), a median of £2,100 ($2,794), an average of £4,270 ($5,681), and a clearance rate of 62%. In 2020, the sale was not conducted due to COVID-19.
The top lot of the 2019 auction was the Warren Chase Stables consigned Fiesole (Lot 107). By the great Montjeu, the useful eight-time winner was knocked down to Oliver Murphy Racing for £35,000 ($45,979).
Lot 71, Strong Power, a 2-year-old winning son of leading sire Kodiac, offered by Godolphin was sold to Jack Stevenson for £27,000 ($35,470), to make him the second-highest priced lot of the 2019 sale. The colt is the second produced from the winning dam Soft Power and is closely related to champion older sprinter in Europe and 10-time winner Slade Power .
Tattersalls Live Internet Bidding will be available for those who are unable to attend the sale in person. Prospective purchasers are requested that they register with Tattersalls at least 48 hours prior to the start of the sale.
