Bonuses Offered at WTBOA Stallion Season Auction

Washington Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association is offering multiple bonuses in conjunction with its stallion season auction to be held Dec. 15-22.

For stallion owners donating seasons, the eight highest-priced stallions will be entered in a "Tier 1" drawing with the winner of the drawing receiving a bonus equal to 50% of the final bid up to a maximum of $5,000. For all other participating stallions, a second "Tier 2" drawing will award the winning stallion owner a 50% bonus of the final bid up to a maximum of $1,000.

Bonuses are available for bidders, too. All winning bidders will be will be entered into a drawing to receive a credit of up to $1,000 or the equivalent of the final bid on one stallion season, whichever amount is less. All other bidders will be entered into a drawing for a $400 bonus, which may be applied toward any stallion season still available, should the bonus recipient wish to continue bidding during the extended online auction.

The auction will offer stallion seasons from the United States and Canada, including Kentucky (29 seasons), California (22), Washington (nine), Florida (two), New York (six), Pennsylvania (two), Oregon (six), New Mexico (one), and British Columbia (two).

An owner bonus for two 3-year-old stakes at Emerald Downs eligible to the progeny resulting from the 2021 auction is anticipated for this year's auction as well.
