Justify Season to Generate Aid for KY Tornado Victims

Coolmore America is auctioning a season to Triple Crown winner Justify   from which proceeds will go toward relief for those affected by the Dec. 11 tornadoes in Western Kentucky. 

Bids for the 2022 live foal guaranteed season can submitted to Adrian Wallace, nomination sales for Coolmore America, at adrianmw@coolmore.com. The deadline for bids is Friday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. ET. Proceeds will go the relief fund set up by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association. 

Also announced Dec. 13, The Jockey Club, through its commercial subsidiaries, donated $50,000 toward tornado relief in Western Kentucky. The donation was made through the Go Fund Me site established by the KTA. 

In addition, The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation, which provides financial relief and assistance to needy members of the Thoroughbred industry and their families, is prepared to help those in the racing community personally affected by the storms. The KTA announced on social media Monday that on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 12 p.m., a tractor trailer arranged by Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale will leave from The Thoroughbred Center (3380 Paris Pike, Lexington, KY 40511) and haul donated goods to Mayfield, Ky., for families affected by the tornadoes. The KTA added that plastic storage containers and bins, food and crates for dogs and cats, and non-perishable foods are needed. Items can be dropped off at The Thoroughbred Center.
