Mahoning Valley Increases Purses for Second Time in '21

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course announced Dec. 17 a 10% purse increase, effective Dec. 21. This increase marks the second of 2021 after the first occurred at the start of the fall meet.
"We have had a good year here at Mahoning Valley, setting several handle records along the way," said Elizabeth Rogers, assistant director of racing. "The timing of this increase will help us set the stage for an even better 2022."
The purse increase will be visually reflected beginning with the first condition book of 2022, which was released Friday.
Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course races primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays with a first race post time of 12:45 p.m. ET and Saturday with a first race post time of 12:15 pm. The fall race meet began Oct. 22 and continues through Dec. 30 with an additional day on Thursday, Dec. 30, with the standard weekday 12:45 p.m. post. The 2022 winter/spring race meet dates are Jan. 1-April 16 following a similar race schedule.
