Tailgating has long been a part of the fabric of horse racing at Keeneland Race Course. The atmosphere is a cross between a college football game and a big-event race day.
In spring 2013, Keeneland introduced The Hill, a designated tailgating lot located adjacent to the Entertainment Center and Keene Barn with no charge for parking. Tailgating on The Hill occurs Friday and Saturday during racing season and features food trucks, Bluegrass music, a jumbo television screen and areas where fans can place bets.
