Glenn and Becky Brok are closing down their Diamond B Farm in Pennsylvania, which they built from scratch in 2003, and are stepping away from more than 20 years devoted to furthering the Thoroughbred business in the Keystone State.

"It's been a long, great run, but both my daughters have moved to Kentucky," Brok told BloodHorse. "We're going to sell the property and move to a smaller farm, about 22 acres, near Georgetown. We were finding it hard to get good help, and I have a day job with Brook Ledge. It's time to slow down and enjoy life."

A U.S. Army veteran, Brok got involved in the Thoroughbred business walking hots at Liberty Bell Racetrack in 1969. Over the years, he's worked as an assistant starter, exercise rider, and jockey's agent on the East Coast. Becky Brok has a show horse background and also galloped horses at the track.

Brok said he was 25 when they bought the 100-acre property near Mohrsville, Pa., that became Diamond B Farm. They bred and foaled mares, did sale prep for weanlings and yearlings, handled layups and rehabilitation for racehorses, and stood stallions. Last year the farm's stallion roster included grade 1 winner Boisterous , graded-placed winner Eastwood  , multiple grade 1-placed winner Rowayton , multiple grade 1-placed winner Social Inclusion , multiple grade 1-placed stakes winner Talent Search , and multiple graded-placed stakes winner Uptowncharlybrown  .

Diamond B stood the leading and second-ranked freshman, second-crop, and third-crop stallions in Pennsylvania in 2018-20 in top sire Flashback  and runner-up Boisterous. Last year, Boisterous and Uptowncharlybrown were among the top 10 leading Pennsylvania sires. Late in 2020 Flashback was sold to a farm in South Korea.

"I don't want to be the guy who bought an RV and never got to drive it," Brok said. "I want to be the guy who bought an RV and drove the wheels off of it."
