The mystery of the missing Sophie Doyle has been solved. In an interview Jan. 28 with TVG at Gulfstream Park, the jockey announced that she was expecting a child with fiance, trainer Chris Davis. Doyle, based out of Kentucky, hasn't ridden a race since Dec. 18 at Turfway Park.

"I'm still in the saddle in the morning and still breezing a couple but it's nice to be able to pick and choose what I get on in the mornings right now," said Doyle.

The U.K. native told TVG she was 16 weeks pregnant.

"It's been a long secret to keep to myself," said Doyle. "Some of these things you never know how it can go and since I've always been an athlete who's been fit and training and keeping my weight down as a jockey, we just wanted to make sure everything was going in the right direction (with the pregnancy) before I announced that I was taking time away to have a family."
