Fog of War wins the 2018 Summer Stakes at Woodbine

Hidden Lake Farm's Fog of War  , a grade 1 winner by War Front  , sired his first reported foal when a filly out of the Tapit   mare Kitty Foyle was born for breeder 3C Stables Jan. 31 at Hidden Lake Farm in Stillwater, N.Y.

Kitty Foyle, a $575,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase by Crupi's New Castle Farm in 2016, is produced from the multiple graded stakes-placed Mt. Livermore mare Lavender Sky , a half sister to multiple grade 1 winner and millionaire Alpha  and to stakes winner, multiple group stakes-placed Mystic Melody . She descends from the family of Kamar, a Canadian champion at 3 and the Kentucky Broodmare of the Year in 1990 at 14. Kamar produced 1990 Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Seaside Attraction , grade 1 winner Gorgeous , and Canadian champion 3-year-old male Key to the Moon , among other accomplished performers and producers. This is also the family of 2006 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp Majestic Barriere (G1) winner Desert Lord , multiple grade 1 winner Turbulent Descent , and grade 1 winner Flashing

Kitty Foyle, who was acquired by 3C Stables for $95,000 out of the 2020 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, had a colt by Always Dreaming   in 2020 and a colt by Kitten's Joy   last year.

The impeccably bred Fog of War, a $400,000 purchase by Peter Brant's White Birch Farm at the 2017 Keeneland September sale, was a standout juvenile in 2018 for trainer Chad Brown. Undefeated in a pair of starts, the son of War Front—Say , by Galileo, captured the Summer Stakes (G1T) at one mile on the turf at Woodbine, defeating subsequent Preakness Stakes (G1) winner War of Will   in 1:33.90 under a hand ride. Prior to his scintillating score in the Summer, Fog of War displayed a quick turn of foot to win his maiden special weight debut at Saratoga Race Course over 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf. The following season at 3, Fog of War just missed to grade 1 winner Win Win Win   in the Manila Stakes on the turf at Belmont Park | BloodHorse.com Track Profile">Belmont Park, defeating grade 1 winner Casa Creed .

Produced from the group 3 winner and group 1-placed Say, Fog of War is a full brother to two stakes winners—Naval Intelligence  and Invader . Fog of War's second dam is multiple grade 1 winner and multi-millionaire Riskaverse and he hails from the immediate family of 2011 Horse of the Year Havre de Grace . He will stand the 2022 season for an advertised fee of $7,000, stands and nurses.
