Racing at Laurel Park
Citing the lingering effects of harsh winter weather, Laurel Park, Turfway Park, and Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course canceled live racing Feb. 5.
In addition to a winter storm, which passed through the Mid-Atlantic region Feb. 3-4, freezing temperatures and wind chill were contributing factors to the cancellation at Laurel.
Laurel's planned partial ARC simulcast presentation from San Isidro has also been canceled.
Laurel, Pimlico Race Course, Rosecroft, and the Maryland Jockey Club's OTB network remain open for simulcasting.
Live racing is scheduled to return to Laurel with an eight-race program Feb. 6. Post time is 12:25 p.m. ET.
Oaklawn Park also canceled all three of its racing dates this week due to snow and ice that fell at the Arkansas track.
Turfway Park director of racing and racing secretary Tyler Picklesimer posted on social media that the $100,000 Forego Stakes at Turfway, originally carded for Saturday, has been rescheduled Feb. 12. Horses must be re-nominated. Nominations close Feb. 6.
