Bloodstock agent Donato Lanni announced Feb. 6 via Twitter that Michael Lund Petersen's champion Gamine  would visit Lane's End stallion Quality Road   for the 2022 breeding season.

The 2020 champion female sprinter put together a spectacular 3-year-old campaign that saw her win the Longines Acorn Stakes (G1) and Longines Test Stakes (G1) in New York culminated by a scintillating victory in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1). In that performance, Gamine established a new Keeneland seven-furlong track record of 1.20.20 and earned a dazzling 121 Equibase Speed Figure.

Returning as a 4-year-old, the Into Mischief   captured the Derby City Distaff Stakes Presented by Kendall-Jackson Winery (G1), Ketel One Ballerina Handicap (G1), Great Lady M Stakes (G2), and Las Flores Stakes (G3). She ended her season with a third-place finish behind Ce Ce  in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at Del Mar. She is nominated for a second Eclipse Award.

Trained by Bob Baffert, Gamine retired with a record of 9-0-1 from 11 career starts and earnings of $1,771,500. She resides at Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa.

Bred in Kentucky by Grace Thoroughbred Holdings from the Kafwain mare Peggy Jane, Gamine first passed through the ring at the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, selling to Grand Oaks for $220,000 from the Summerfield consignment. She then was the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale topper when she hammered down at $1.8 million to Petersen when offered by Bobby Dodd.

Perennial leading sire Quality Road stands for an advertised fee of $150,000.
