The first reported foal by Aurelius Maximus  , a grade 2-placed son of Pioneerof the Nile, was born Feb. 10 at Hebert Farms in Maurice, La.

The dark bay filly was produced by the Pomeroy  mare Platinum Patty , owned by William Meaux. Platinum Patty was a $100,000 purchase from Fasig-Tipton's Texas 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale in 2014 by Charles Castille Jr. and an impressive 2-year-old maiden special weight winner at first asking.

"We are really excited about 'AM's' first foal. And, we are extremely excited about 'Aurelius.' He's been nothing but class in the breeding shed and the response to him has been outstanding," said Nathan Granger, a partner in the stallion along with Stonestreet Stables, George Bolton, and Peter Leidel.

Bred in Kentucky by Martell Bloodstock and Fifth Avenue Bloodstock out of the graded stakes-winning A.P. Indy  mare Le Reina, Aurelius Maximus raced for Stonestreet, Bolton, and Leidel to a 3-1-1 record from eight starts with earnings of $217,114. He was second by a neck to Mr Freeze  in the 2020 Hagyard Fayette Stakes (G2) at Keeneland.

Aurelius Maximus is a half brother to black-type winner, grade 2-placed Chief Havoc , multiple graded stakes-placed Special Event , and graded stakes producer Tia . His second dam is champion older mare Queena , who also produced grade 1 winner and sire Brahms.
