The Thoroughbred Owners of California announced Feb. 28 the winners of its 2021 statistical awards for leading California owners. Reddam Racing was leading owner in total purse earnings; Tommy Town Thoroughbreds led all owners by number of California wins and most California starts; and Baoma Corp. was leading owner for most California stakes wins.
Reddam Racing runners earned $2,479,544 in California last year, with 36 wins from 246 starts. Their top runners included Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) winner Slow Down Andy , Let It Ride Stakes winner Team Merchants , grade 1-placed Tonito's , and graded-placed winners Awake at Midnyte .
Tommy Town Thoroughbreds had 52 wins from 253 California starts, for total earnings of $1,461,335. Its top runners included California Derby winner Stalking Shadow , Keeper Ofthe Stars , Stanford Bay , Dynasty of Her Own , I Am Yours , and Uncorked .
Baoma had an impressive eight stakes wins in 2021. Their top runners included Starlet Stakes (G1) and Desi Arnaz Stakes winner Eda ; Santa Ysabel Stakes (G3) winner and Santa Anita Oaks (G2) runner-up Beautiful Gift ; Private Mission , winner of the Zenyatta Stakes (G2) and Torrey Pines Stakes (G3); Qahira , winner of the Kalookan Queen Stakes; and, Enbarr , winner of the Capote Stakes.
All winners will be recognized at TOC's annual meetings at Del Mar Aug. 13 and at Golden Gate Fields Oct. 22.
