High-Class Craven Breeze Up Sale Catalog Out

Champion 2-year-old Native Trail sold at the Craven Sale in 2021 to Godolphin

The catalog for the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale has been released, with siblings to top-level winners and horses out of grade/group 1-winning mares among the highlights. 

The sale's most famous graduate in recent times is undoubtedly last season's Darley Dewhurst Stakes (G1) and Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes (G1) winner Native Trail , who was crowned European champion juvenile and who sold to Godolphin from Oak Tree Farm for 210,000gns ($303,063) at the sale in 2021.

Other notable graduates who shone last season are the group 2-winning pair of Asymmetric  and Go Bears Go 

Among this year's entries are full or half brothers and sisters to 27 group or listed winners, including Tally-Ho Stud's Mehmas  half sister to Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (G1T) winner Ebro River  (Lot 65) and Mocklershill's No Nay Never  half sister to dual group 1 winner Harlem  (Lot 111). 

Also cataloged are the Brown Island Stables-consigned Lope de Vega  half brother to Etihad Airways Irish One Thousand Guineas (G1) winner Just The Judge  (Lot 144), Mocklershill's Sioux Nation  half brother to 2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2T) winner Twilight Gleaming  (Lot 84), the Zoffany  half brother to group 2 winner and grade 1-placed Lemista  (Lot 59), plus Longways Stables' Adaay  half brother to multiple group 1-placed sprinter Dragon Symbol  (Lot 103).

There are a further 24 2-year-olds out of group or listed-winning mares, including fillies by Showcasing  and War Front   out of top-level winners Penelopa  and Dancing Rags .

Among the Classic or grade/group 1-winning sires represented are Acclamation  , Australia , Dark Angel , Invincible Spirit , Kingman , Lope de Vega, Mehmas, New Bay , Night of Thunder , Sea The Stars , Siyouni , Zoffany, and Zoustar. Some of last season's leading first-season sires in Ardad , Cotai Glory , Galileo Gold , and Profitable  also have progeny entered.

Ebro River half sister by Mehmas will be on offer as Lot 65

This term's first-season sires represented include Cracksman , Expert Eye , Harry Angel , Havana Grey , James Garfield , Kessaar , Saxon Warrior , Sioux Nation, and Tasleet , while American stallions include American Pharoah  , Honor Code  , Kitten's Joy  , and War Front. 

In addition to all lots being eligible for the £250,000 Royal Ascot/Group 1 Bonus and the £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonus, eight lots are entered in the £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes, with a further three in the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, and six in the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes.

There are also 11 2-year-olds eligible for French Owners' Premiums, six fillies registered for the Great British Bonus Scheme, and one lot entered in the £20,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus.

The breeze for the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale will take place at Newmarket's Rowley Mile Racecourse on Monday, April 11, starting at 9:30 a.m., with the sale taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 12-13 after the conclusion of racing on the first two days of Newmarket's three-day Craven meeting.
