First reported foal by Pleasant Acres Stallions' Sweetontheladies, a colt out of Spanish Fever

Pleasant Acres Stallions near Ocala, Fla., announced March 4 the first reported foal by its grade 1-placed, multiple stakes-winning stallion Sweetontheladies  .

The colt out of Spanish Steps winner Spanish Fever was bred by Lisa Miller, who raced Spanish Fever during the second half of her racing career. The mare is out of Joyous Fever, a half sister to stakes winner Joyous Song  and to multiple black-type producers Reserve Bid and Xylophone. The immediate family also has produced grade 3-placed stakes winner Rhapsodist and stakes winners Secret Rhapsody , Bryceslittlesecret, March X Press , and Harlan's Honor .

"Sweetontheladies was a tenacious sprinter and is the only Twirling Candy   stallion in Florida. We are excited to see the Candy Ride   bloodline expand in our state and this first colt is an excellent representation," said Joe Barbazon, owner of Pleasant Acres Stallions. Twirling Candy was a top 10 North American sire in 2021.

Sweetontheladies won stakes at 2 and 3 and went on to place in five graded stakes, including a third in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1). He compiled a 4-5-6 record from 31 starts and earned $408,012.

The stallion is participating in Pleasant Acres' lifetime breeding rights program that awards a lifetime breeding right for every mare bred this year after the foal is born and the fee paid. Sweetontheladies stands for $2,500.
