Emblem Road defeats Country Grammer in the Saudi Cup at King Abdulaziz Racecourse

Following his upset in the Saudi Cup (G1), Prince Saud bin Salman Abdulaziz's Emblem Road has moved into a tie for second in the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings. He shares a 120 ranking with Home Affairs, trailing only Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes Presented by 1/ST BET (G1) winner Life Is Good  at 124.

The ratings, compiled by the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings Committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, measure horses that have raced this year from Jan. 1-March 6.

The Saudi Arabian-based Emblem Road won the Saudi Cup by a half-length over runner-up Country Grammer , who has a 119 rating. Midnight Bourbon , third in the Saudi Cup, is pegged at 117.

Life Is Good maintains the top-ranked spot after notching a 3 1/4-length victory in the Pegasus over the now-retired Knicks Go  . Life Is Good is expected to make his next start in the March 26 Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1) at Meydan.

Though unplaced in the Saudi Cup, Mandaloun  holds a 119 rating, placing him on equal terms with Country Grammer and Speaker's Corner  among American-trained horses within the top 10. The latter has scored two authoritative graded stakes victories at a mile at Gulfstream Park this winter.
