Into Mischief New York-Bred to Spendthrift for $1M

Hip 277 is out of Artemis Agrotera, winner of the 2013 Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park

A New York-bred son of Into Mischief   stood out late at the Ocala Breeders' Sales March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training March 15, selling to Spendthrift Farm for $1 million.

Sequel Bloodstock, agent for breeders Chester and Mary Broman, consigned the colt (Hip 277), who is out of the Broman's dual grade 1-winning Roman Ruler  mare Artemis Agrotera . Artemis Agrotera captured five of nine starts and $943,800, including the 2013 Frizette Stakes (G1) and 2014 Ballerina Stakes (G1).


The dam has already produced stakes winner Chestertown  (Tapit  ).

Hip 277's sales price was the second-highest of the Tuesday session as of 7 p.m. ET.
