Race for Grace Banquet Set for May 2 at Churchill Downs

We call you "to the post" today asking for your support and to join us in our 20th Annual Race for Grace where we will celebrate 50 years of Kentucky Race Track Ministry.

The Race for Grace is our primary fundraising event and the funds generated here allow us to continue our mission to minister to the fundamental and spiritual needs of the horsemen and women working at the racetracks and training centers in Kentucky and Southern Ohio. 

Every year, there are over 7,000 licensees working at Kentucky and Southern Ohio race tracks. The Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy serves the stable workers, jockeys, starting gate crew and track staff, ensuring they can have a family church and a home away from home. There are 3 chaplains at the 5 tracks and multiple training centers as well as women's and children's ministry directors. The Chaplaincy provides a clothes closet, food bank, weekly services and Bible studies, women's and children's ministries, transportation to off-track appointments and moral support where needed.  

Hall of Fame Jockey and Kentucky Derby winner Pat Day will be the Master of Ceremonies. 

The keynote speaker will be nationally recognized Pastor Bob Russell. At just twenty-two years of age, Bob became the pastor of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. That small congregation of 120 members became one of the largest churches in America, with 18,000 people attending the three worship services every weekend in 2006 when Bob retired. Now through Bob Russell Ministries, Bob continues to preach at churches and conferences throughout the United States, provide guidance for church leadership, mentor other ministers and produce video Bible studies. 

There will be a live auction featuring Keeneland's Director of Auctioneers Ryan Mahan and items will include 6 seat boxes for the 2023 Kentucky Derby and Oaks, leather halters from 2022 Kentucky Derby entries, and a silent auction with horse racing art and memorabilia.
