OBS Catalogs 1,231 For Spring Juvenile Sale

Ocala Breeders' Sales released March 21 the catalog for its Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training, which has 1,231 juveniles entered for the four-day sale that runs April 19-22. All sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Two of the prominent graduates of this sale include Speedway Stables' unbeaten champion Corniche , who was honored with an Eclipse Award as 2021's champion 2-year-old male; and, Robert and Lawana Low's grade 1 winner Colonel Liam , who scored a consecutive win in the Jan. 29 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes Presented by Baccarat (G1).

Corniche, a son of Quality Road  , won his career debut at Del Mar and followed with victories in the American Pharoah Stakes (G1) and TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (G1). Three-for-three for trainer Bob Baffert, Corniche earned $1,262,000 at 2. The colt was consigned by De Meric Sales as agent to the 2021 OBS Spring Sale, where he breezed an eighth in :10 flat during the under tack show and was purchased by bloodstock agent and Speedway racing manager Marette Farrell for a sale-topping $1.5 million.

Colonel Liam, a son of Liam's Map  , has won seven of his 10 career starts for trainer Todd Pletcher and to date has earned $1,810,565. Now 5, Colonel Liam brought $1.2 million at the 2019 Spring Sale where he was consigned by Wavertree Stables and purchased by bloodstock agent Jacob West on behalf of the Lows. He worked a quarter-mile in :20 4/5 ahead of the sale.

OBS will offer online bidding during the sale. Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS bidding screen with their credentials. Complete information about registration and bidding is available on the OBS website.

The under tack show and sale will be streamed live on the OBS website as well as on BloodHorse.com.

Also available on the OBS website is an online catalog with a sortable master index providing searchable pedigree and consignor information as well as access to pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed and links to under tack videos, walking videos, and conformation photos.

The iPad version of the catalog can be accessed via the Equineline Sales Catalog app. The app allows users to download and view the catalog, receive updates and results, record notes, and also provides innovative search, sort, and rating capability.

• Hip No. 617 - 924 will sell Thursday, April 21
• Hip No. 925 - 1231 will be sold Friday, April 22
