Flightline after his victory in the 2021 Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita Park

Undefeated Flightline , who looked like he could be the next titan of the turf following his 11 1/2-length procession in the 2021 RUNHAPPY Malibu Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita Park, recorded his first work back April 10 since going to the sidelines in February.

A zealous 2022 plan, which included a stop in the June 11 Hill 'n' Dale Metropolitan Handicap (G1) on Belmont Day, was mapped out by Flightline's connections before the colt received a preliminary diagnosis of a strained hock.

"We think this is a minor issue and we're gonna address it, take care of it, and then go forward," trainer John Sadler told TVG in February.

Flightline first caught the public's attention with a dazzling 13 1/4-length debut victory at Santa Anita in May 2021. He then received a freshening before reappearing at the Del Mar summer meet, powering to another double-digit score in an allowance optional claiming contest ahead of his December Malibu crowning.
