Ocean Vision wins his first career start April 12 at Dundalk and is the first winner for freshman sire U S Navy Flag

U S Navy Flag , a freshman son of War Front   and multiple group 1 winner, sired his first winner April 12 at Dundalk in Ireland where his son Ocean Vision won first out by three-quarters of a length in the five-furlong Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden.

Ocean Vision is the seventh foal out of the Mr. Greeley mare Balaagha and now her third winner from six starters. Shadwell Estate bought the mare as a yearling for $750,000 at the 2007 Keeneland September Yearling Sale out of the consignment of Brereton C. Jones, who bred her. Balaagha is a stakes-placed half sister to grade 2 winner Letgomyecho , the dam of 2021 Eclipse champion 2-year-old filly Echo Zulu  and grade 1 winner Echo Town  .

"He actually needs six furlongs. He was all over the place early on in the race but came home strong," trainer Kieran Cotter told Irishracing.com. The colt is owned by John Kirkland and was bred by Mighty Universe.

U S Navy Flag was bred in Kentucky by the Misty For Me Syndicate and later raced by longtime partners and Coolmore associates Derrick Smith, Michael Tabor, and Susan Magnier. He won four group stakes, including the group 1 Darley July Cup, Darley Dewhurst Stakes, and Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes. He is one of 23 grade/group 1 winners sired by War Front and stands at Coolmore Ireland for €12,500.
