Her World wins her debut in the 2021 Tyro Stakes at Monmouth Park

First-out stakes winner Her World  aims to prove her debut black-type success was no fluke when she takes on an expected nine other 3-year-old fillies April 15 in the $200,000 TVG Limestone Stakes going 5 1/2 furlongs on the grass at Keeneland.

Her World is a daughter of second-crop sire Caravaggio  , who was tied with leading freshman sire Gun Runner   in 2021 by number of black-type performers. She will be saddled Friday by Wesley Ward for partners Andrew Farm, For the People Racing Stable, and Windmill Manor Farm. She is the 2-1 morning-line favorite and will be ridden by Irad Oriz Jr., breaking from post 2.

Her World debuted Aug. 7 in the Tyro Stakes on the grass at Monmouth Park, where she opened a clear lead through the first call and went on to win by six lengths. She has not raced since that debut.

Susan Moulton bought the filly at the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $400,000 out of Gainesway's consignment. Her World was bred in Ireland by Lynch Bages and Rhinestone Bloodstock. Andrew Farm then purchased the filly when she was offered at this year's Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale where the farm signed the ticket for $425,000. Paramount Sales consigned her to that auction.

In the Limestone, Her World will face Gregory Kaufman's Kaufymaker  and Waterville Lake Stable's Derrynane , who finished a head apart while running third and fourth, respectively, in the 2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2T). Both fillies are entered for their 2022 debuts.

Ward also trains Kaufymaker, who was scratched from the April 10 Palisades Stakes to run in the Limestone. The daughter of Jimmy Creed   will be reunited with jockey Jose Ortiz, who was aboard in the Breeders' Cup at Del Mar, and will break from post 3.

Derrynane, a winner of two of four starts, including the Woodbine Cares Stakes, also will be making her 2022 debut. Trained by Christophe Clement, the Quality Road   filly will have regular rider Joel Rosario aboard and break from post 6.

Another contender coming into the race off an impressive debut win is Michael Dubb, Michael Caruso, and Madaket Stables' Fast Corey , a daughter of Practical Joke   trained by Brad Cox. The filly made her first start March 10 at Turfway Park in a six-furlong maiden special weight on the all-weather main track and won in a romp by 5 3/4 lengths. After the first three furlongs, she had opened an 8 1/2-length lead. Fast Corey will be ridden by Florent Geroux and break from post 9.

West Point Thoroughbreds, Pearl Racing, and Mark Pine's Unbridled Mary  will look to keep an unbeaten streak going. By Maclean's Music  , the filly won her debut Nov. 12 at Del Mar going five furlongs on the grass and then made her 2022 debut a winning one by taking a 6 1/2-furlong allowance optional claimer at Santa Anita Park by a head over group 3-placed Delmona . Unbridled Mary is trained by John Sadler and will be ridden by Joe Bravo, who been aboard for both her starts. They will break from post 8.
