Grade 2 and multiple New York stakes winner Pat On the Back  was represented by his first reported foal April 2 when a colt bred by Bryan Minnich was foaled at Bonner Hill Farms in Pennsylvania.

The colt is out of the winning Munnings   mare Miss Charisma, who is from the same family as grade 3 winner Bob and Jackie. Pat On the Back colt is the mare's first foal.

Pat On the Back is an 8-year-old son of Congrats out of the Awesome Again mare Accomplished, who has produced eight winners from as many starters. Bred by Sugar Maple Farm in New York, Pat On the Back was sold for $70,000 as a yearling at the 2015 Fasig-Tipton New York Bred Preferred Yearling Sale to trainer Kenny McPeek out of the St. George Sales consignment.

The colt started out racing for Harold Lerner, Wayne Cutler's AWC Stables, Scott Akman, and Jack Cohen's Nehoc Stables. Lerner, Cutler, and Cohen remained partners on Pat On the Back throughout his racing career and into his stud career. For McPeek and then Jeremiah Englehart, he won a stakes race each year from 2 to 5 and became a graded stakes winner in the 2019 Kelso Handicap (G2).

Pat On the Back started 30 times and compiled a 9-4-6 record with $1,144,545 in earnings. He stands at Bonner Hill for $3,500.
