Representatives for former President Donald Trump have announced a $75,000 per-person fundraising event in Louisville with Trump that takes place on Kentucky Derby Day, May 7.

Details of the event, shared on Twitter by Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, show an invitation from Trump backers Pam Bondi, Richard Grenell, and Matt Whitaker to "the Kentucky Derby with special guest Donald J. Trump." The invitation lists Churchill Downs alongside the date of the fundraiser while specifying that additional details are available to those that RSVP.

Asked for confirmation related to the announced attendance of the former President at the May 7 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1), Darren Rogers, senior director of communications and media services, issued the following statement:

"Every year, many high profile individuals choose to attend the Kentucky Derby, including prominent political figures. We do not comment on or confirm the attendance of individual guests or those holding private events not coordinated by Churchill Downs."

Trump has previously attended the Kentucky Derby, with the track displaying a picture of him on site in 1999 at www.kentuckyderby.com. He is among 10 presidents that have been to the Derby, Rogers said. President Richard Nixon is the only sitting president to come to the Derby, doing so in 1969, while the others attended before or after their time in office.

Presidents George H. W. Bush and his son, President George W. Bush, attended the Derby in 2000.
