Description:

For the second consecutive night, part of the night race card at Lone Star Park was canceled due to a line of thunderstorms that moved through the Dallas, Texas, area April 18.

The track canceled races four through nine due to unsafe conditions caused by the storm. Despite the threat of the storms, 6,069 patrons were in attendance. There was $78,409 wagered on-track for the three races run. Another $314,836 was wagered at simulcast outlets across the country for a total of $393,246.

The final three races of the April 17 card were called off due to inclement weather, primarily lightning caused by lingering thunderstorms, marking the first time races have been canceled on back-to-back nights at the Grand Prairie track since its opening in 1997.
